Positive COVID-19 In Aceh Adds 159 People, Most Case Distribution In Banda Aceh And Pidie

ACEH - The Aceh COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) reported an additional 159 residents were infected with the corona virus. As of Sunday, June 13 today, the cumulative total of cases reached 17,376 people.

"The new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Aceh have increased by 159 people, 38 people have recovered and 6 people are reported to have died in Aceh," said Aceh COVID-19 Spokesperson, Saifullah Abdulgani in Banda Aceh, quoted by Antara, Sunday night.

He explained that the addition of the new corona patients was at most 52 people from Banda Aceh, 22 people from Pidie, 20 people from Bireuen. Furthermore, Aceh Besar 18 people, Central Aceh 17 people and residents of Lhokseumawe 11 people.

There are 4 people from Pidie Jaya and Simeulue, 3 people from Bener Meriah, North Aceh, Aceh Jaya, Nagan Raya and South Aceh each and the remaining 4 residents from outside Aceh.

Meanwhile, 38 patients have recovered per day. This includes 24 people from Banda Aceh, 5 people from Pidie, 3 people from Aceh Tamiang, Sabang and 3 people from Southwest Aceh each.

"The COVID-19 patients who were reported to have died in the last 24 hours are 2 people from Southwest Aceh and 1 person from East Aceh, Aceh Besar, Banda Aceh and Simeulue each," he said.

Until now, cumulatively, COVID-19 in Aceh has reached 17,376 people, of whom 12,959 have recovered, and 3,734 people are still being treated in hospital or in self-isolation and 683 people have died due to corona.

The spokesman who is familiarly called SAG stated that the corona cases had continued to increase in the last few days, even reaching hundreds of new people per day. Therefore, residents are asked to continue to be disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"We urge residents to continue to apply health protocols with discipline starting from wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility," he said.

He also invited residents not to be afraid to vaccinate against COVID-19 as an effort to gain herd immunity in the community, he said.
