4 Suspects Arrested After OTT Anom Widiyantoro, One of Them is KPK Admin Staff

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named four suspects after carrying out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro on Tuesday evening, July 28. The process is confirmed to have gone through a case title or exposure at the leadership level.

"That last night the case had been exposed and it was decided that this case would be investigated for two clusters of cases," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 30.

The first cluster, Budi said, was related to the alleged criminal act of extortion committed by Anom to his subordinates and private parties.

Meanwhile, the second cluster, allegedly occurred extortion against Pemalang Regent Anom by members of the Police who were assigned at the KPK in the administration named Setya Budi Dias Oktavianto.

"The second cluster is related to the alleged criminal act of extortion carried out by KPK officials to the Pemalang Regent. Based on the sufficiency of valid evidence, investigators have then named four people as suspects," said Budi.

Budi ensured that the handling of this alleged extortion would be maximized even if it involved parties in his agency's internal affairs.

"On this occasion, the KPK also emphasizes that every handling of cases that the KPK carries out is carried out objectively, transparently, and accountable, including if the case also involves KPK officials themselves," he said.

"This is a manifestation of the KPK's commitment to ensuring the integrity pillar is upheld both in the KPK institution and in every person of the Corruption Eradication Commission."

As previously reported, the KPK again held an OTT and secured 21 people in the Central Java and Jakarta regions. One of those secured was Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

"One of the people who were secured in Jakarta was the Regent of Pemalang, who then arrived at the KPK Red and White building last night for intensive examination," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 29.

Budi then detailed that a total of 21 people were secured in the action. Of this number, 12 were taken to Jakarta.

"For the other seven people, six from Pemalang and one from Purworejo, it is likely that this afternoon until the afternoon, yes, will arrive at the KPK Red and White building for further examination," he said.

Budi has not detailed the actions of the parties who were caught in OTT. He only said that there was allegedly a transfer of money related to the project and the sale and purchase of positions.

The team in the field also found a number of evidence, including money of around Rp2 billion.

"Whether it is later the construction of the case is bribery or extortion related to projects in Pemalang Regency, of course it will be explained and discussed in the expose," he said.

"In addition, there is also an alleged receipt made by the regent related to the sale and purchase of positions in the Pemalang Regency Government," concluded Budi.
