PSI NTT Reveals the Preparation for Jokowi's Welcome in Kupang is Complete, Thousands of People are Said to Attend

KUPANG - Chairman of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Christian Widodo has ensured that all preparations for the visit of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo to Kupang City on Saturday, August 1, have been completed. Jokowi is scheduled to take a leisurely walk with residents to attend PSI's internal agenda.

Christian said the committee together with a number of parties had completed all technical and coordination needs to support a series of activities during the visit.

"All preparations have been carried out well. So far our preparations have gone smoothly because there are many parties who have helped welcome Mr. Jokowi's presence in Kupang," said Christian, Wednesday, July 29.

Jokowi is scheduled to start the agenda by taking a leisurely walk with the community in the Car Free Day area, Jalan El Tari, starting at 06.00 WITA. After that, he will attend the Cultural Carnival and Elephant Carnival in the Lahi Lai Bissi Koepan Beach area (LLBK) at 15.00 WITA.

According to Christian, public enthusiasm continues to increase ahead of the day of implementation. Many residents contacted him to confirm the schedule for Jokowi's arrival in Kupang.

"Every day many people contact me to ask for confirmation of Pak Jokowi's presence. They are very enthusiastic and can't wait to welcome him in Kupang City," he said.

He assessed that the high public interest showed that Jokowi still had strong appeal in NTT. The visit, he said, was not just to fulfill the invitation of the community, but also to be a moment of direct meeting between Jokowi and the people.

In addition to the agenda with the community, Jokowi is also scheduled to attend the PSI NTT Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda). Christian hopes that all series of activities can run without obstacles.

"We are ready to welcome Mr. Jokowi's presence in Kupang. All preparations have been completed and we hope that all series of activities can run safely, orderly, and smoothly," he added.
