JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed that information circulating on social media regarding the alleged shooting of the aide of the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah is hoaxes or untrue.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said his party had confirmed to the South Jakarta Metro Police regarding the information that was circulating.
"If there is clear information, so far we have confirmed with the South Jakarta Criminal Investigation Unit that it is a hoax," said Budi Hermanto at a press conference, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 27.
Previously, there were uploads on the Instagram social media, one of which was through the @gianluigich account, which said that Febrie Adriansyah's aide was allegedly shot dead by a mysterious person after the guard of the house in question was said to have died. On the other hand, the Polda Metro Jaya together with the South Jakarta Metro Police are still investigating the cause of the death of a man named Sutrimo who was found unconscious in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, last Thursday.
Budi explained, based on initial information, the victim was found lying in the yard of the Mordent Clinic, Kebayoran Baru.
"The victim was then taken by ambulance to Muhammadiyah Hospital Taman Puring. However, the hospital explained that Sutrimo arrived in a state of death," he said.
To uncover the cause of death, investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police with the South Jakarta Metro Police are still collecting evidence and compiling the chronology of the incident.

Meanwhile, regarding information that Sutrimo is the Head of the Household Affairs (Karumga) of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Budi said that the status is still being investigated by investigators.
