House Turned into Clothing and Textile Warehouse Burns Down in Koja

JAKARTA - A house that was used as a clothes storage warehouse by its owner was burned down on Jalan Kelapa Muda II, RT 07/07, Tugu Utara Village, Koja District, North Jakarta on Sunday morning, July 24, 2026.

The clothing warehouse was not inhabited by the owner of the house. So when a fire occurred on Sunday at around 04.07 WIB, the owner of the clothing warehouse did not know it.

The fire was first known by a resident named Ali. Ali immediately contacted the North Jakarta fire department to ask for a fire in his area.

"The object is a house that was burned down and used as a convection warehouse," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat North Jakarta and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed Sunday morning.

The fire extinguishing process was carried out from 04.17 WIB by launching 9 fire trucks and 25 personnel.

"At 05.32 WIB the fire was extinguished," he said.

The area burned was about 25 square meters. The total loss is estimated to reach IDR 150 million.

"The cause of the fire is suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit. The extinguishing process was successfully carried out in a safe condition," he said.
