JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the government succeeded in saving the state budget by Rp300 trillion through efforts to stop various state spending leaks. The funds from the efficiency are now allocated to support various priority programs that are directly felt by the community, ranging from Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), the construction of thousands of bridges, to the revitalization of schools.

The President said the government continued to strengthen measures to close budget leaks that had reduced the effectiveness of the use of state finances.
According to him, the high figure of Indonesia's Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) shows that there is still inefficiency in the use of investment and state spending, including the practice of inflating prices in the procurement of government goods and services.
"We are stopping this. This is what we saved from the first few months of the government we are leading. We can save Rp300 trillion," said Prabowo.
He emphasized that the efficiency results were not saved, but were immediately used to finance priority government programs that provided tangible benefits for the community.
"This is what we use for MBG. This is what we use for the bridge just mentioned. We will build 5,000 bridges until December 2026. If necessary, we will build more. People in the village, they don't want to wait anymore," he said.
Prabowo explained that the MBG program is targeted to reach around 83 to 85 million people throughout Indonesia. The program will be supported by around 30 thousand kitchens that operate optimally and are projected to be able to create around 1.5 million direct jobs and 1.5 million other job opportunities that drive the economy in the village.
In addition to MBG, the government is also accelerating the construction of basic infrastructure, including the construction of bridges to strengthen inter-regional connectivity. The government targets as many as 2,500 suspension bridges to be completed by August 2026, while the total construction is targeted to reach 5,000 bridges by the end of the year.
In the education sector, the government has also accelerated the revitalization of educational units throughout Indonesia. In 2025, revitalization has reached 16,167 educational units with a completion rate of 100 percent.
For 2026, the government has allocated a budget of Rp. 14 trillion which has been approved by the DPR to revitalize 11,744 educational units. The government also added a revitalization target of 60,000 schools, so that the total revitalization target this year reaches 71,744 educational units in various regions.
