KUPANG - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the East Nusa Tenggara Police (NTT) have examined four suspects, in an investigation into alleged intimidation of dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni or dr. Icha.

Director of Criminal Investigation of the NTT Regional Police, Kombes Sigit Haryono, said the four suspects were summoned to be questioned as witnesses at the investigation stage.

"Today they are scheduled to be examined as witnesses," said Sigit as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 14.

The four suspects who were examined included three members of the DPRD in North Central Timor Regency, namely Veronika Lake, Norbertus Tubani, and Therensius Lazakar, as well as a veterinarian with the status of state civil servant (ASN) Maria Mathildis Sau.

He explained that the examination was carried out by the NTT Police Joint Investigation team at the NTT Police Criminal Investigation Office at the NTT Police Headquarters.

During the examination, the four respondents were accompanied by a legal team from the Bildad Thonak Law Office, consisting of Leo Lata Open, Egiardus Bana, and Obet Djami.

The examination was a rescheduling after the report had previously been scheduled to meet the investigators' call on Monday (13/7).

However, the agenda was postponed at the request of the lawyer because his clients were unable to attend.

He explained that the examination of the four suspects was part of a series of investigations conducted by the Joint Investigation team to investigate the alleged intimidation report filed by the family of the late dr. Icha.

Previously, investigators had examined as many as 32 witnesses, consisting of health workers, patients, colleagues of dr. Ichase, and family members.

In addition to asking for the testimony of witnesses and collecting evidence, investigators will also seek the opinions of a number of experts, including psychologists, victimologists, criminologists, and criminal law.

The testimony of the experts will be considered by investigators in determining whether or not there is a criminal element in the alleged intimidation case.
