Densus 88 Says Bomb Threat at SDN Srengseng Has Not Fulfilled the Elements of Terrorism

JAKARTA - The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Police stated that the threat of alleged bomb terror at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Morning, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, has not met the elements as a crime of terrorism.

"The results of the in-depth investigation concluded that the incident did not meet the elements of a terrorist crime," said Densus 88 Anti-Terror Police Spokesperson Kombes Mayndra Eka Wardhana, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 13.

Mayndra explained that the conclusion was drawn after Densus 88 conducted an investigation together with the Metro Jaya Police and the Gegana Korbrimob Police Team.

The joint team had previously conducted in-depth investigations into various aspects, ranging from motives, funding, to the possibility of having connections with terrorist networks.

Because there has been no connection with the terrorist network, Mayndra said the handling of the case of the threat was then handed over to the regional authority.

"Therefore, further handling is carried out by the Polda Metro Jaya, in this case the South Jakarta Metro Police," he said.

Although the handling has been delegated, Mayndra emphasized that the Densus 88 Antiterror Polri is still in a standby position.

His party continues to monitor and coordinate with the regional units and related institutions to anticipate any potential threats that could disrupt public security.

"Every information that develops in the field will continue to be investigated by officers in accordance with the applicable procedures," he said.

On the other hand, Densus 88 also appealed to the public to remain calm, not easily influenced by information that has not been verified for its truth, and to continue to carry out activities as usual.

"If you find suspicious information or activities, the public is expected to immediately report it to the police so that it can be followed up quickly and appropriately," said Mayndra.
