JAKARTA - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has foiled a plan for simultaneous drone attacks on the "Ukrainka" and "Shagol" military airfields in the Amur and Chelyabinsk regions, which were being prepared by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), according to a report by the FSB Public Relations Office, noting that the perpetrators and accomplices of the terrorist attack plan had been detained.

The FSB obtained initial intelligence information about the delivery of an FPV drone equipped with a warhead and a mobile ground control station by the Ukrainian special services to the Bryansk region, which was transported in containers using a fixed-wing drone and a balloon.

The drone was then transported by passenger car with a trailer equipped with a false base, which was loaded with household appliances, to the target airfield, where the drone was assembled and prepared for use in a rented garage.

The FSB documented all of these illegal actions.

A total of 24 FPV drones equipped with control modules of networks made in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Sweden were successfully seized, as quoted by TASS (13/7).

It was explained that the drone is resistant to electronic warfare, with a warhead containing more than one kg of explosives, as well as two mobile ground control stations equipped with self-destruct devices containing 250 grams of explosives each, and communication equipment used to contact Ukrainian operators.

The thwarted attack was part of a series of unprecedented large-scale sabotage and terrorism acts by the Ukrainian special services, which also included assassination attempts on two senior officers of the Ministry of Defense and a planned drone attack on the "Rostov-Tsentralny" military airfield.

The Russian Federal Security Service reminded that people who voluntarily warn the authorities or stop acts of terrorism can be exempt from criminal liability under Russian law.
