Hashim Clarifies Being Linked to Fake CIA Agent Gaurav Srivastava

JAKARTA - Special Presidential Envoy for Energy and Climate Hashim Djojohadikusumo clarified the news regarding his involvement with a scammer posing as a CIA agent, named Gaurav Srivastava.

"In connection with the circulating news, we provide clarification to straighten out the facts and provide a complete picture of the reported events," said Hashim Spokesperson, Ariseno Ridhwan in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

He explained, on December 7, 2020, then-Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto hosted then-US Defense Secretary Christopher C. Miller at a dinner at Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta.

"The meeting was part of the series of official visits of the United States Secretary of Defense to Indonesia. Mr. Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo was also present at the reception," he said.

The United States delegation at that time consisted of a number of senior officials, including Kash Patel, who was then the Chief of Staff of the United States Secretary of Defense and is now the Director of the FBI, the United States Ambassador to Indonesia Sung Y. Kim, Military Assistant General Brian Fenton, Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Heidi Grant, Gaurav Srivastava, and nearly 30 other members of the delegation and accompanying staff.

In the series of agendas, a limited meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Christopher C. Miller also took place.

"Gaurav Srivastava was also present as part of the United States delegation in the limited meeting," said Ariseno.

He added that the clarification was conveyed so that the public could get a complete picture of the reported events and not draw conclusions based on partial information.

"We hope that this clarification can complement the information for the public so that the event is understood in its entirety based on the actual facts," said Ariseno.
