JAKARTA - The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Metro Jaya Police revealed that searches were carried out at eight locations, including Cafe De'Klan and Point Money Changer in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, in the context of investigating two police reports related to alleged corruption, bribery, and money laundering (TPPU).

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol. Victor Dean Mackbon said the search was part of the investigators' efforts to complete evidence in two cases that are now handled together with the Police's Tipikor Court.

"This search was carried out in connection with the investigation of two police reports currently being handled by the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police," Victor told reporters, Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Victor explained that the first police report concerned alleged acts of corruption and/or TPPU in the legal process allegedly involving civil servants or state organizers in the cases of PT Asabri (Persero) and PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) from 2020 to 2025.

Meanwhile, the second police report concerns alleged acts of corruption and/or TPPU in the process of settling debts or obligations of PT CBS to PT KNI which is suspected to involve civil servants or state administrators in the period 2020 to 2025.

According to Victor, both cases also include alleged bribery and are suspected of having provisions in the Corruption Eradication Law, the Money Laundering Law, and the Criminal Code (KUHP).

During the investigation, the joint team searched around eight locations to search for and secure evidence.

"From the eight locations we searched, today media colleagues witnessed the search at two points, namely Cafe De'Klan and Point Money Changer," he said.

Victor added that the investigation process would continue to be developed. All the investigation series were carried out jointly between the Ditreskrimsus of the Polda Metro Jaya and the Kortas Tipikor of the National Police with the support of a number of related working units.

"We will convey further efforts as the investigation progresses in a joint investigation," he said.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto appealed to all parties to respect the ongoing investigation process. He emphasized that anyone who tried to obstruct the legal process could be processed according to the applicable provisions.

"We appeal to all parties to respect the process carried out by the Police. Anyone who tries to obstruct the investigation process can be processed based on Article 21 of the Corruption Crime Law," said Budi.

Budi added that the entire series of investigations was carried out by prioritizing the principles of professionalism, proportionality, and accountability so that every police action could be accounted for.

In the search, he said, the deployment of Brimob personnel was also carried out. According to him, it was a proactive step that was part of the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the police, not because of resistance at the location.

"For the use of personnel force, it is an anticipation and it is part of the SOP carried out by the Police," he said.*
