JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ensured that the construction of an international hospital (RS) on the former land of Sumber Waras Hospital will begin immediately. The ganb project to be built on the former disputed land is targeted to enter the groundbreaking phase in August 2026.

Pramono said that all legal issues related to the purchase of the former Sumber Waras Hospital land have now been completed. With that, the DKI Provincial Government no longer has obstacles to building a hospital on a land area of 3.6 hectares located at Jalan Kyai Tapa Number 1, West Jakarta.

"What is not widely known is related to the Sumber Waras Hospital. Alhamdulillah Sumber Waras Hospital which has been around for 14 years has not been completed and has finally been completed," said Pramono in North Jakarta, Tuesday, June 30.

According to Pramono, the settlement of the dispute is a way for the construction of a hospital that is projected to have international standards to begin. The first stone laying stage is scheduled to take place in August.

"Hopefully in August this groundbreaking will be carried out, because this will be an international hospital," he said.

Several years ago, the purchase of the Sumber Waras Hospital land was a matter of public concern. The case began with the findings of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) which assessed that the land purchase was made at a tax object sale value (NJOP) that was too high in the era of DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).

The findings were then followed up by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through the investigation process. However, the KPK decided to stop handling the case in 2023.

Now, after obtaining legal certainty, the DKI Provincial Government targets that the construction of an international hospital can immediately run as one of the strategic projects in the Jakarta health services sector.
