JAKARTA - Senior Iranian officials said technical talks between the US and Israel on the implementation of a broader agreement between the two governments would not continue this week.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister and official who led the Iranian delegation in the technical talks, said there were no technical working group meetings scheduled for this week.

The formation of these technical groups was agreed upon when US and Iranian delegations were in Switzerland earlier this month for talks mediated by Qatar and Pakistan.

The negotiators decided to form four working groups, each of which will discuss the issue of sanctions, Iran's nuclear enrichment program and uranium reserves, reconstruction and economic development, and monitoring progress towards an agreement.

"Although consultations with Qatar - including on the implementation of the commitments of other parties - continue as usual, the reports of a number of media outlets that mention technical working group talks to be held in Doha have not been confirmed," Gharibabadi said as quoted by CNN, Monday, June 29.

"The first round of talks will be held "after the necessary conditions are met and an agreement on the date and location has been reached," he added.
