JAKARTA - Indonesia will encourage the strengthening of inter-regional economic cooperation and integration in the ASEAN partnership meeting with Russia in Kazan.

Russia will hold a 35th anniversary Summit of the ASEAN-Russia Partnership in Kazan on June 17-18, 2026.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono, was present as Head of Delegation representing (on behalf) the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto in this Summit.

The meeting was held to commemorate and review the achievements of the ASEAN-Russia partnership over the past 35 years, as well as agreeing on the direction of future cooperation that remains relevant in the face of various regional and global challenges.

Nabyl added, the presence of the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs "is Indonesia's commitment to continue to strengthen concrete and mutually beneficial partnerships with Russia, both in the bilateral and ASEAN frameworks."

Quoted from the Kremlin website, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the summit delegation directly in an official welcoming ceremony and a state reception held at the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, in Kazan.

"We believe that our current summit, along with the documents that have been prepared for adoption - namely the Kazan Declaration and the Joint Action Plan - will make a full contribution to achieving this main goal," continued President Putin.
