JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono welcomed the arrival of his counterpart, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.
In a post on the official X account of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Foreign Minister Sugiono was seen welcoming Foreign Minister Fidan directly on the steps of the plane when he arrived in the country through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tuesday (2/6) evening.
"Indonesia and Turkey are two countries that always stand together," the post wrote, as quoted on Wednesday (3/6).
"Indonesia highly appreciates Turkey's support and solidarity in fighting for the principles we share," he added.

Foreign Minister Fidan is said to discuss steps to further strengthen cooperation in various sectors in accordance with the political will shown by the leaders of both countries, according to a Foreign Ministry source.
He is expected to emphasize the importance of deepening cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy, transportation, digitization, artificial intelligence, high technology, and halal food industries to help increase the bilateral trade volume to 10 billion US dollars (about Rp178.3 trillion).
Foreign Minister Fidan will also review ongoing defense industry projects and assess the potential for new areas of cooperation.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Foreign Minister Fidan will reiterate that Turkey and Indonesia remain in close dialogue regarding developments in Palestine and will continue joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Fidan will also emphasize the need for coordinated international action in response to Israel's violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, provocative actions in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, and the expansion of the occupation carried out by Israeli forces in Lebanon.
During his visit to Jakarta, Foreign Minister Fidan is expected to discuss developments involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, Syria, the Russia-Ukraine war, Somalia, Sudan, and Libya, as well as broader regional and global security issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
