PENAJAM - President Prabowo Subianto bought a Limousin cow weighing 950 kilograms from a local farmer in Saloloang Village, Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province.
The livestock is prepared to be donated as a sacrifice aid to the local community on Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah or Eid al-Adha 2026.
Head of the Regional Government Secretariat for Public Welfare of the North Penajam Paser Regency Government, Hendro Susilo, confirmed the existence of sacrificial animal assistance from the head of state.
According to him, the selection and determination of superior sacrificial animals are entirely the authority of the East Kalimantan Provincial Animal Husbandry Service, while the district government acts as the beneficiary.
"The President's assistance this year is a Limousin type with a weight of 950 kilograms. The sacrificial animal was purchased from local farmers in Saloloang Village, Penajam District, according to specifications," said Hendro Susilo when giving information in Penajam, Tuesday (26/5/2026).
Hendro explained that this year's Eid al-Adha, the presidential assistance sacrificial animals are planned to be slaughtered at the Al Istiqomah Mosque, West Labangka Village, Babulu District. The slaughter location was determined based on the direction and policy of equalization from the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.
The distribution of sacrificial animal assistance from President Prabowo Subianto to the North Penajam Paser region is not the first time it has been carried out. At the 2025 Eid al-Adha celebration, the region also received similar assistance in the form of Simental type cows weighing around one ton which was distributed in Gunung Steleng Village, Penajam District.
Hendro added that the sacrificial cows with superior quality from the central government are not only of symbolic value for religious celebrations, but also have a real social impact for residents.
The presence of the jumbo-sized sacrificial animals is expected to strengthen the sense of togetherness, increase social awareness, and help people in need in remote areas.
The North Penajam Paser Regency Government expressed its commitment to continue to monitor the equitable distribution of religious social programs throughout the district. The main focus is directed to areas that are considered most in need, so that the celebration of major religious holidays can be felt by all levels of society.
