Police Arrest 3 Brutal Attackers on Flyover Cibodas Tangerang

Tangerang - The police have arrested three people suspected of stabbing two teenagers while crossing the Cibodas Park flyover in Tangerang City, Banten, not long ago.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol. Raden Muhammad Jauhari said that the three perpetrators with initials MH, DP, and GR were successfully secured, after the police conducted an intensive investigation through CCTV footage and tracking the perpetrators' tracks after the incident was crowded on social media.

"We will not give space to street violence perpetrators and motorcycle gangs that disturb the community. All perpetrators involved will be dealt with according to applicable laws," said Jauhari, quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 24.

The Police Chief said the stabbing incident occurred on Wednesday (13/5) at 01.00 WIB. At that time, two victims, namely Syarif Hidayat and Dimas Ramdani, were passing by on a motorcycle after traveling from Jakarta to Tangerang.

While in the Cimone area, the two had a dispute with another group of motorcyclists on the highway. Although the victim chose to avoid, the perpetrators were allegedly chasing him to the scene at Fly Over Taman Cibodas.

"The victim was chased by several perpetrators using two motorbikes. Upon arrival at the flyover location, the victim was immediately attacked using sharp weapons," he said.

As a result of the brutal attack, one of the victims suffered six gunshot wounds to the back and thighs, while the other victim suffered serious injuries to the back and had to undergo intensive treatment at the hospital.

Furthermore, the Jatiuwung Police together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang City Metro Police who received the report immediately moved quickly to carry out the crime scene and traced the CCTV along the escape route of the perpetrator.

From the results of the investigation, officers managed to identify the group of perpetrators who were known to come from the area of the Kemis Market to Serang.

In the raid carried out early Friday (22/5), the police arrested three perpetrators in different locations. From the hands of the perpetrators, the police secured a number of evidence in the form of a Yamaha Vixion motorcycle, a knife, a helmet, clothes used during the incident, and a cellphone.

Based on the results of the examination, the attack was triggered by a trivial matter on the road. One of the perpetrators admitted that he was offended because he felt he was being watched by the victim.

"The perpetrator then chased the victim with his group, stopped the victim's vehicle, then carried out a joint beating," explained the police.

Not only attacking, the group was also suspected of trying to seize the victim's belongings. One of the perpetrators tried to take the victim's motorcycle and cellphone keys, but failed because he was resisted.

The police also appealed to the public, especially parents, to increase supervision of their children's activities so that they are not involved in criminal acts or street violence that endanger the safety of others.

"We will continue to hunt down other perpetrators in committing street crimes, including the main brain of the brutal act," he said.
