Boat Guard in Muara Baru Caught in Pornography After Recording a Woman Bathing in a Public Toilet

JAKARTA - The Muara Baru Police arrested a man who was caught spying on a young woman while bathing in a public bathroom on Jalan Tuna Dermaga Barat, Muara Baru Port, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police, Ipda Fauzi Widi, said the arrest of the perpetrator with the initials MP (26) began with a report from the victim NH (22) to the Muara Baru Police.

"The victim cried when he reported to the police, admitting that he was spied on by someone while taking a bath. When checked, it turned out that in the public bathhouse there were only the victim and the perpetrator, finally the perpetrator could be caught on the spot," said Ipda Fauzi to reporters.

In addition to arresting the perpetrator, the police also seized evidence from the victim's video recording from the perpetrator's cell phone.

"Initially the victim was taking a shower in a public bathroom. About 30 minutes later, when the victim looked up, he was suddenly shocked to see the perpetrator's head peeking out and videotaping the victim while taking a shower," he said.

Because of shock, the victim then screamed hysterically and asked for help. Then after getting dressed, the victim came out of the bathroom and saw the perpetrator also coming out of the other bathroom door.

Due to this incident, the victim reported to the Muara Baru Police for further processing. Meanwhile, the evidence seized was a black OPPO A77 mobile phone, a red sweater and a plastic bucket with white paint.

Until now, the suspect is still being examined by investigators of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police.

The suspect is known as a boat guard for fishing. The suspect is also unmarried. The motive for the suspect to commit this act is because of lust and liking the victim.

"For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 9 in conjunction with Article 35 of Law No. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography and/or Article 14 paragraph (1) of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence and/or Article 407 of the Criminal Code. The threat of imprisonment for 9 years," he said.
