JAKARTA - The controversy over the alleged bullying case at the Penabur Intercultural School (PIS) Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, is heating up again.

The secretary of the Indonesian Love Movement (Gracia) NGO, Hisar Sabinus Sihotang, was reported to the Polda Metro Jaya for alleged insults through social media.

The report was recorded with the number LP/B/1344/II/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated February 19, 2026 and is currently still under investigation by the police.

The reporter, Sahat Panggabean, said the report was related to uploads and statements on social media that were considered to attack his personal honor and dignity.

"I hope the legal process will be objective and not selective. All citizens have the same rights in the eyes of the law," said Sahat.

This case is said to have started from the involvement of the Gracia NGO in assisting a student with the initials EJH who was allegedly involved in a bullying case against a number of students at PIS Kelapa Gading.

The issue was in the public spotlight after dozens of flower boards appeared in front of the school containing criticism and protests regarding the handling of alleged bullying in the school environment.

In the midst of the controversy, the NGO Gracia is known to be actively voicing protection for EJH.

However, the situation is said to be getting hotter after various statements appeared on social media that were considered to attack certain parties personally.

Currently, EJH is reportedly undergoing separate learning activities in his class after a number of student parents asked the school to not put their children in the same class.

Sahat assessed that differences in views in responding to bullying cases should not develop into attacks on individuals in the public sphere.

"Please defend anyone, but don't attack other people's personal or degrade someone's dignity on social media," he said.

He hopes the police can follow up on the report professionally to provide legal certainty for all parties.

Meanwhile, until this news was released, there was no official statement from the police regarding the development of handling the report.

The search for the General Legal Administration (AHU) website of the Ministry of Law as well as the Community Organization Information System (Siormas) of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the DKI Jakarta Police also said that they had not found specific information regarding the legality of the organization called the Gracia NGO.
