BANDUNG - The dispute over the management of the West Java Chamber of Commerce has entered a new phase. The mediation of Nizar Sungkar's lawsuit against the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Anindya Bakrie at the Bandung District Court ended in a stalemate after the main defendant was called four times absent.

Nizar admitted to being disappointed. According to him, mediation should be the best way to resolve conflicts without prolonging cases in court.

"Obviously I am disappointed because he does not have good intentions to resolve the conflict. If I have been present in this room two out of four times," said Nizar after mediation at the Bandung PN, Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Nizar, Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce version of Muprov Bandung, said he still respected the legal process. Because mediation failed, the case will continue to the examination of the main case.

He also hopes that the panel of judges will issue a provisional ruling that places the West Java Chamber of Commerce in a status quo position until there is a final ruling. In that way, the Muprov Bogor and Muprov Bandung results do not carry out activities first.

Nizar's lawyers, John Sitepu and Tri Laksono, also regretted the absence of the main defendant. According to them, the judge had given the opportunity up to four times for mediation.

"There is no prohibition to instruct legal advisors. But it would be good if the defendant were present," said John.

In his lawsuit, Nizar asked the Bandung PN to cancel the decision letter of Anindya Bakrie which confirmed Almer Faiq Rusydi as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce. Nizar also demanded material and immaterial compensation, including immaterial losses of IDR 20 billion.

The lawsuit dragged three groups of defendants. The first group from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, namely Anindya Bakrie, Erwin Aksa, Taufan Eko Nugroho, and Doddy Ahmad Firdaus. The second group comes from the Muprov Kadin West Java committee. The third group is Almer Faiq Rusydi, Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce version of Muprov Bogor.

This conflict began with two Muprov Kadin West Java on September 24, 2025. The Muprov in Bogor chose Almer Faiq Rusydi. Meanwhile, the Muprov in Grand Preanger Bandung chose Nizar Sungkar.

Nizar's camp stated that the Muprov Bandung was held by the caretaker of the West Java Chamber of Commerce, which was formed by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce through SKEP/030/DP/IV/2025 dated April 30, 2025. Therefore, they assessed that Muprov Bandung has organizational and legal foundations.

However, the application for the confirmation of Nizar's management, which was submitted on October 9, 2025, was not granted by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce. Instead, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce appointed Almer Faiq Rusydi in Cirebon on November 27, 2025.

This step then became the basis for a lawsuit for illegal acts at the Bandung PN.
