Korlantas Uses 2 Types of TAA Tools When Investigating a Train Accident in East Bekasi

JAKARTA - The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) uses two types of traffic accident analysis (TAA) tools in the process of processing the scene of the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station.

The Head of the Laka Sub-Directorate of the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Sandhi Wiedyanoe, said the device was static and portable.

"Static technology with LiDAR cameras and 360-degree cameras are able to detect the environment or environment comprehensively, and portable technology that can see through the pattern of a helicopter view so that we can see and illustrate in three dimensions with 4K quality," he explained in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, April 29.

He said that the results of recording the two devices would be electronic evidence in the investigation process.

The results of the recording, he continued, will also be presented to the public prosecutor (JPU) and the judge in the trial stage.

"So, as a valid evidence used during the investigation, prosecution, and trial," he said.

Sandhi also said that the National Police's Korlantas would further evaluate the green taxi involved in the accident.

"Of course we from Korlantas, especially the cooperation between the Directorate of Law Enforcement and the Directorate of Security and Safety will coordinate to evaluate the many incidents involving green taxis. We will evaluate the company," he said.

Previously, the train collision incident between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the Commuter Line train occurred at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4) evening.

PT KAI recorded that as of Tuesday (28/4), the number of fatalities was 15 people, while 88 others were injured.

All the victims who died have been evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for identification, while the injured victims are being treated at a number of hospitals.
