Nus Kei Murder Case Naik Stage, Police Send SPDP to Prosecutor's Office

AMBON - Investigators from the Maluku Tenggara Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit sent a Letter of Notification of the Commencement of the Investigation (SPDP) for the murder of the Chairman of the Maluku Tenggara Golkar DPD II Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei to the Maluku Tenggara District Attorney's Office.

"We have submitted the DPP to the Maluku Tenggara District Prosecutor's Office as an official notification that the investigation is underway. This is a legal mechanism that must be carried out," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Rositah Umasugi, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 22.

Rositah said the delivery of the SPDP marked the start of coordination between investigators and prosecutors in handling the case.

This case is related to the alleged murder which resulted in the victim's death due to stabbing.

Previously, two suspected perpetrators with initials HR and FU had been secured and questioned regarding the stabbing incident that occurred at the Karel Sadsuitubun Airport, Southeast Maluku, Sunday, April 19, which resulted in the victim's death.

The police have named the two as suspects and detained them after undergoing an examination.

On April 22, 2026, investigators sent the SPDP to the prosecutor's office as a basis for coordinating the handling of the case until the trial stage.

Rositah emphasized that all stages of handling the case were in accordance with legal regulations.

"The police ensure that the condition of kamtibmas in the Maluku Tenggara region remains conducive, while appealing to the public not to be provoked and entrust the legal process to the police," he said.
