Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia's air defense forces intercepted seven ballistic missiles near an oil industry facility in the kingdom's Eastern Province on Monday night.

"Seven ballistic missiles fired at the Eastern Province were intercepted and destroyed," the Saudi Ministry of Defense said in a post on the X platform, as reported by Sputnik, Tuesday, April 7.

According to him, the missile debris fell near an energy facility. "The scale of the damage is still being assessed," he said.

The Ministry of Defense added that over the past few hours, their air defense systems managed to repel 18 drones over the kingdom.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Anadolu News Agency reported that Saudi Arabia had also temporarily suspended vehicle activity on the King Fahd Bridge connecting the kingdom to Bahrain as a precaution.

The King Fahd Bridge Authority said in a statement that the suspension was "precautionary" following warnings issued in recent hours by the National Early Warning Platform in the Eastern Province, where the bridge is located.

The platform is an electronic system used to issue warnings to residents during security or weather emergencies.

As of 05.30 GMT (12.30 WIB), Saudi authorities have not issued an update on when traffic will resume.
