Whoosh Debt Restructuring Completed, Dony Oskaria: Government Solve Problems

Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Management Agency Dony Oskaria said the restructuring of the Whoosh high-speed train debt had been completed. This was conveyed by Dony at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 7.

The restructuring process, only needs to complete the formal process. He said that in the next one to two weeks he and the Minister of Finance would meet with journalists to explain the final results of the completion of the project.

According to Dony, the process now only remains to enter the signing stage. Dony is not willing to disclose the details of the restructured Whoosh debt. Likewise, the portion of ownership that will be taken by the Ministry of Finance. However, he emphasized that the direction of the settlement was clear and would be resolved soon.

According to Dony, the government is now choosing to focus on solving problems, not re-unpacking who is the cause. This attitude is also used in dealing with various other SOEs, including large impairments in the work company.

He emphasized that the main goal of restructuring was not merely to close old problems, but to make SOEs healthier, especially in terms of governance.
