KA Bangunkarta Fell at Bumiayu Station, Passengers Transferred by Bus

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operation 5 Purwokerto handles three trains on the Bangunkarta KA series of the Jombang-Pasarsenen relationship that fell into the Bumiayu Station embankment, Brebes Regency, Central Java.

KAI Public Relations Manager for Purwokerto Railway Station Manager M As'ad Habibuddin said the incident occurred at around 14.15 WIB at KM 312+1, specifically at wesels 21A and 21B, thus disrupting train travel on the line.

"We apologize for the inconvenience experienced by Bangunkarta train customers due to this disruption," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 6.

Not long after receiving information about the incident, the entire KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto emergency response team immediately moved quickly to the location to handle and coordinate with related parties.

Currently, officers are still focusing on the process of evacuating the train series that fell and handling the track so that it can be immediately passed again by train travel.

"KAI officers and related teams have been deployed to the location to ensure that the evacuation process is safe and smooth and minimize the impact on other train journeys," he said.

As a result of the incident, he said the road section at the location fell for a while could not be passed, both upstream and downstream lanes, so that a number of train trips were disrupted.

According to As'ad, KAI is preparing engineering efforts to turn the operating pattern for a number of train trips.

"KAI continues to coordinate with relevant parties to accelerate the handling process at the scene," he said.

Regarding the cause of the crash, KAI Daop 5 is still conducting an investigation and will provide further information after the field handling process is completed.

As a form of commitment to customer service, he said KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto prepared 10 units of buses to evacuate passengers of the Bangunkarta train to their respective destinations.

He also appealed to all customers to remain calm and follow the instructions of officers in the field for the smooth evacuation process and safety.

In addition, his party ensures that it will continue to provide the latest information regarding the development of the situation through various official company channels.

"We will try to handle it as much as possible so that train travel can return to normal as soon as possible without neglecting safety aspects," said As'ad.
