JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) suspended the operation of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Pondok Kelapa 2, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, after the alleged poisoning of Free Nutrition Meal (MBG) which affected 72 students.
Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, when confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday said that in addition to the case, BGN also found that the SPPG had not met the operational procedures set by BGN.
"In addition, SPPG Pondok Kelapa was suspended (temporarily suspended) for an indefinite period, because the condition of the kitchen, including the layout and Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) still does not meet the standards," he said.
Nanik emphasized that BGN also bears the cost of treatment for all students who have now been directed to the Duren Sawit Regional Specialty Hospital (RSKD), East Jakarta.
"We apologize for this incident. BGN will also be responsible for all medical expenses at the hospital," said Nanik.
Meanwhile, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung when reviewing directly to the Duren Sawit RSKD stated that regarding financing, for those who have registered BPJS Kesehatan, it will be fully assisted until they recover.
Quick handling has been carried out in coordination between BGN and the DKI Provincial Government and its ranks.
"So, the handling and coordination are going fast between BGN, the DKI Jakarta Government and also with the Education Office, the Health Office and of course several related hospitals," he said.
Now, the DKI Provincial Government is waiting for the results of the laboratory from the MBG examination and asks the parties concerned to be held publicly accountable.
It is hoped that the victims of students and teachers can recover soon and can return to their usual activities.
Meanwhile, the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jaktim) continues to prioritize the health condition of students and ensures that they receive proper treatment.
"If the Education Sub-Directorate, we do not have the authority to convey whether it is poisoning or not. What is clear is that we focus on the safety of children, especially related to their health," said Head of the East Jakarta Education District I Sub-Directorate, M. Fahmi.
His party has held a meeting with a number of stakeholders, including from the health sector and related parties to the MBG program.
However, Fahmi reiterated that the conclusion regarding the cause of the incident could not be conveyed before the results of the official laboratory examination came out.
"We can't even call this poisoning if the data is not there. Only the laboratory knows the results, so we just wait," said Fahmi.
