Women's Farmers Group in Karanganyar Flood Order for MBG

Sumber Lestari Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in Klodran Village, Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, is flooded with orders for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

The MBG program makes the vegetables they cultivate easily absorbed. This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Sustainable Source KWT, Sri Utama, Friday, April 3. The Sustainable Source KWT cultivates a number of vegetables, namely lettuce, pokcoy, mustard, tomatoes, ginger, kangkung, broad beans, and gambas.

The vegetables are mostly absorbed by the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or the MBG kitchen. Usually, the MBG kitchen orders up to 100 kilograms of vegetables. However, due to the limitations of members and land, KWT Sumber Lestari is only able to meet or supply half of it.

Sri gave an example when the MBG kitchen needed a supply of 100 kilograms of lettuce, this KWT could only meet 50 kilograms. For vegetable harvests, KWT Sumber Lestari takes an average of two weeks. The price set is for one kilogram of lettuce at Rp. 20 thousand.

In one greenhouse, according to Sri, can produce 150 kilograms. KWT Sumber Lestari was established since February 25, 2025. This KWT empowers women in four residents in Klodran Village.

Currently, there are 18 women members. For delivery, according to Sri, members of his group sometimes deliver orders from the MBG kitchen themselves.
