12 Years of Transjakarta Paving, DPRD Soroti Microtrans that is Not Evenly Distributed

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Khoirudin appreciates the performance of PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) in providing public transportation services to the community. This assessment was delivered in conjunction with the 12 years of TransJakarta operations in March 2026.

Khoirudin assessed that the reach of Transjakarta services is currently quite wide and is one of the main strengths in the transportation system in the capital.

"Transjakarta, the bus that serves Jakarta residents with a range of 92 percent. I appreciate it because in terms of infrastructure facilities in the world it has a ranking of 17," Khoirudin told reporters, Monday, March 30.

According to him, this achievement is inseparable from the budget support provided by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the subsidy scheme or public service obligation (PSO). The value of PSO which reached Rp. 4.8 trillion is considered to have a significant economic impact on the community.

"DPRD with its budget rights does not lose, does not feel lost with the PSO grant of Rp. 4.8 trillion because every Rp. 1 trillion has an economic impact of Rp. 3.2 trillion," he said.

Khoirudin explained that the subsidy is basically a return of benefits from taxes that have been paid by the community. Thus, residents are entitled to affordable and quality transportation services.

"I think Rp4.8 (trillion) is not a very big figure because people have paid Rp55 trillion in taxes. We will return it to the public in the form of a reduction in transportation costs," he said.

However, he reminded that there were still homework that needed to be completed, especially regarding the equalization of Microtrans services (Jaklingko). Until now, there are still a number of residential areas that have not been reached by public transportation.

"There are still holes in the Jakarta area that have not been touched by the Transjakarta service, this is Microtrans. There are still many routes that enter into neighborhoods that have not been opened," said Khoirudin.

He also encouraged that the expansion of routes should be carried out immediately so that all residents of Jakarta can feel the benefits of public transportation evenly.

"Public transportation is the right of the people," concluded Khoirudin.
