Malang - The Malang Police have carried out maritime supervision of tourist jeeps on the Bromo Mountain route to anticipate the potential for accidents during the 2026 Eid holiday.
Head of the Public Relations Section of the Malang Police, AKP Bambang Subinanjar, explained that the pattern of supervision was focused on the entrance to Mount Bromo via Malang Regency or precisely at the Gubugklakah Security Post, Poncokusumo District.
"We are increasing surveillance in tourist areas, especially at the access to Bromo, by checking jeep vehicles to ensure the legality and safety of passengers," said Bambang as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 23.
Bambang explained that each tourist jeep unit was first checked and then continued with the inspection of insurance ownership documents.
Based on data in the field, a total of 412 tourist jeeps entered the Bromo tourist area and of these, 12 jeep units have not carried out ramp checks and do not have insurance.
This step is a commitment of the local police to create a safe Eid atmosphere, amid the density of traffic flow on the Bromo Mountain tourist route.
"Vehicles that have not met safety aspects, such as not having a ramp check and no insurance, we give a warning and a letter of statement so that they can be completed immediately before operating again," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Office, Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, said his party had prepared traffic arrangements, especially at the entrance to Cemorolawang.
Furthermore, officers will check the tickets of tourist visits from the Cemorolawang toll area to Seruni Point.
"For vehicles that have not made online bookings, they are directed to Seruni Point. Meanwhile, for those who have but the number of tickets does not match the number of participants (tourists), they are directed to the Mentingen Line for adjustment," he said.
He said that for tourist vehicles who have made ticket reservations and according to the number of tourists will be directed directly into the TNBTS area.
"Conducting the barcode ticket scanning process which is carried out at the official entrance of TNBTS in Cemorolawang," he said.
