JAKARTA - The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) will start implementing national one-way traffic engineering from KM 70 Cikampek to KM 414 Kalikangkung on Wednesday afternoon.

"What is clear tomorrow, maybe directly led by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub), will be a national one-way flag off for the homecoming flow which will be carried out at 12.00 WIB," said Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Pol. Agus Suryonugroho at the KM 29 Toll Cikampek Command Center, West Java, Tuesday (17/3) evening.

As for Tuesday (17/3), he said that Korlantas had implemented the first phase of one-way traffic on the national one-way lane at KM 70 to KM 263 at 15.00 WIB.

"Based on the directions of the National Police Chief, the Minister of Transportation, and discussions with the Director of Jasa Marga, at 12.00 there was a rise in traffic. Therefore, we immediately reported to the National Police Chief to take steps in accordance with the SKB (joint decision letter)," he said.

In addition, Korlantas also implemented contraflow engineering on the KM 55 to KM 70 toll road to regulate traffic flows to the Trans Java toll road.

He ensured that his party would continue to monitor the situation on the ground.

"Will there be a peak flow tonight? Later we will coordinate with the Director of Jasa Marga. If there is another surge, it is possible that we will be able to extend it for one way. But if it is sloping, we will still evaluate it," he said.
