JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has temporarily suspended 717 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in Region III (East Indonesia) which until now have not registered the Certificate of Public Hygiene Sanitation (SLHS).

Director of Regional Monitoring and Supervision III BGN Rudi Setiawan emphasized that ownership of SLHS is an important requirement to ensure that SPPG meets food hygiene and safety standards for beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

"SPPG that has not registered SLHS will be temporarily suspended until the obligation is fulfilled. This is not just a punitive measure, but a step to ensure that all food supply processes meet the standards that have been set," said Rudi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 11.

Based on the recapitulation of BGN monitoring for Region III, out of a total of 4,219 SPPGs on record, 2,138 kitchens have SLHS, 1,364 kitchens are in the process of being managed, while the other 717 kitchens have not registered at all.

The SPPG that has not registered is spread across several provinces, including West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, to Maluku and several areas in Papua.

According to Rudi, the SLHS standard is an important instrument in maintaining the quality of food distributed to millions of beneficiaries. With this certification, the kitchen operation can be ensured to have passed the sanitation eligibility examination by the local health authority.

BGN also noted that most SPPGs have actually shown a commitment to meeting the standards. This is seen from the high number of kitchens that already have SLHS or are currently in the process of processing.

"We encourage all SPPG managers who have not yet registered to immediately take care of SLHS through the local health service. Once the registration process is carried out, we will monitor it until the certificate is issued so that operations can run according to standards," said Rudi.
