JAKARTA - A number of Transjakarta bus services have adjusted operations on Monday morning. This step was taken after heavy rainfall triggered flooding and infrastructure disruption on several busway routes.
Head of Public Relations and CSR Department of PT Transjakarta Ayu Wardhani said the adjustment was made during the morning rush hour to maintain operational safety and passenger comfort.
"In connection with the impact of high rainfall that leaves puddles and technical constraints at several points on the line, Transjakarta makes operational adjustments during rush hour on Monday morning for the sake of safety and comfort," Ayu said in a statement, Monday, March 9.
Adjustments were made to a number of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services. Route 2A Pulogadung 1-Rawa Buaya was temporarily diverted because the line was not completely safe for buses to pass through. Ayu explained, even though the puddles had started to recede, a number of stops could not serve passengers because the separator or MCB on the busway line was in disarray.
"Even though the puddles are starting to recede, the bus cannot serve customers at several stops due to the many separators/MCBs that are scattered on the line," said Ayu.
In addition to route 2A, the diversion was also applied to route 3 Kalideres-Monas and route 3F Kalideres-Gelora Bung Karno due to similar infrastructure constraints on the busway.
Meanwhile, several stops temporarily do not serve passengers in both directions. The stops are the City Park Stop, the Hanging Bridge Stop, the Pulo Nangka Stop, and the New Bridge Stop.
Adjustments also occurred on Non-BRT services and integration. Route 3E Sentraland Cengkareng-Puri Kembangan was temporarily shortened to Sentraland-New Bridge due to a puddle of about 50 centimeters at the Kembangan Junction towards Sentraland.
In the Microtrans service, the JAK.50 Kalideres-Puri Kembangan route was temporarily stopped. The operation of this route was affected by flooding on a number of roads, starting from Jalan Raya Kresek, Jalan Palapa, Simpang Lampu Merah Puri Kembangan, Pasar Laris to Jalan Bojong Raya.
Transjakarta stated that officers in the field were still handling the matter so that the lane could be reopened normally.
"We urge customers to remain vigilant and always update route information periodically through the TJ application: Transjakarta or the official Transjakarta social media channel," he said.
