JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo Jakarta targets the LRT Jakarta phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai route project to start operating in August 2026. Currently, the project is entering the operational trial preparation stage.
President Director of PT Jakpro Jakarta Iwan Takwin said the commissioning test or system trial process would begin after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This stage is part of the process before submitting an operational permit to the central government.
"Indeed, for LRT 1B (Velodrome-Manggarai route), we target it according to the timeline in August, God willing, it will operate officially," Iwan told reporters, Sunday, March 8.
Iwan explained that after Lebaran, his party would start a trial and prepare the operational licensing process to be submitted to the Ministry of Transportation.
"Now it's starting again, after Eid we will start commissioning the test to then complete the obligation of licensing the operation, we will submit it to the Ministry of Transportation," he said.
In addition to preparing the operations of phase 1B, the jakpro is also preparing plans for the development of the Jakarta LRT network in the future. The preparation of the master plan is based on a study of service needs and intermodal integration.
According to Iwan, the development of the network is directed so that public transportation connectivity in Jakarta is stronger and able to serve the mobility of residents more broadly.
In the long-term plan, the development of the Jakarta LRT after the Velodrome-Manggarai route includes phase 2A to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and phase 2B to Halim.
