JAKARTA - President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza revealed the picture of the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Airport route which will be inaugurated before Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
This trayek will cross Sudirman, Semanggi, the MPR/DPR area, before entering the toll road to the airport. Meanwhile, the Kalideres-Airport service, which has been operating, continues to run with the name SH1.
"Later, the route from Blok M to the airport is SH2. (The route from) Blok M continues and then later passes through Sudirman, then goes up to Semanggi, to the MPR/DPR, then later enters the toll road," Welfizon told reporters, Wednesday, March 4.
This route is prepared as an additional alternative public transportation to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, especially ahead of the Lebaran 1447 Hijriah homecoming rush. Transjakarta targets that the service can be operational before the homecoming period begins.
"Last week we met with PT Angkasa Pura. Yesterday we signed the draft MOU, the signing process at Angkasa Pura. In principle, Angkasa Pura supports, because this will certainly also add transportation options to or from and to Soekarno-Hatta Airport," he said.
According to him, after the memorandum of understanding is completed, the licensing process at the Ministry of Transportation will be immediately encouraged.
The fleet used is a Metrotrans low-entry bus with a low floor to make it easier for passengers to carry suitcases. The stop is prepared on the side of the road so that access to get on and off is more practical.
The end point of the stop in the airport area is still being discussed with the manager. The airport is said to be arranging strategies to reduce the density of vehicles that go directly into the terminal and encourage the use of Kalayang as a link between terminals.
"Of course, they also have some strategies because there are also modes there, including Kalayang. Kalayang is an inter-terminal integration. That will be strengthened later," explained Welfizon.
Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung admitted that his party was still finalizing preparations for the opening of the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route, which is targeted to operate before the Eid al-Fitr celebration this year.
If it is later operational, Pramono allows passengers on the Transjabodetabek route from Blok M to the airport to carry large-sized suitcases and bags as long as they can still be accommodated on the bus.
"Later the technicalities will be on the ground. But what is clear is that as long as (the bag or large bag) can fit on the bus, yes, please," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, February 11.
This statement answers concerns about the flexibility of the service, given that the Blok M-Soetta route will be used by prospective airplane passengers who carry large luggage, especially ahead of the Lebaran homecoming season.
"We are preparing and perfecting it. In principle, the Ministry of Transportation has given permission, but there will be some new stops that must be improved," said Pramono.
