JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said that the salaries of health workers in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government environment, especially those with the status of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), are generally higher than those of a number of hospitals in Jakarta.

He said this in response to complaints from health workers (nakes) in Jakarta who said they had not received a salary increase for 10 years.

"If ASN-kan, it will definitely go up. In the PPPK, I received a report that it was actually higher than the hospitals in Jakarta, except for Pondok Indah Hospital. The others are higher," said Pramono in the Sarinah area, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 2.

However, Pramono emphasized that he would review the data to ensure the actual conditions on the ground.

Previously, a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) faction, Justin Adrian Untayana, highlighted the salaries of health workers (nakes) in Jakarta who have not increased for 10 years.

This was conveyed by Justin in the Working Meeting (Raker) of Commission E against the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) 2027 on Monday (2/3).

The Secretary of Commission E urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) to immediately increase the salaries of health workers by considering the workload, job risks, and increasing living needs.

Justin quoted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which recommends a ratio of 4.45 nakes for every 1,000 residents.

According to him, the ratio of health workers in Jakarta is only 1.73 health workers per 1,000 residents, so that health workers in DKI tend to have a much heavier workload.

"Our nurses are carrying a workload 2 to 3 times greater than it should be," he explained.

Justin added that the ratio did not include residents from outside Jakarta who were treated using the Indonesian Healthy Card (KIS).

With this condition, health workers in the capital are estimated to serve around 13 to 14 million people.

He also reminded the sacrifices of health workers during the pandemic, including the many medical personnel who died while on duty.

"We also cannot forget the sacrifices made by our health workers when facing the Covid-19 pandemic. There have been many who have died in carrying out their duty to save the lives of others," he continued.

Apart from workload, Justin assessed that the increase in the price of basic necessities due to inflation worsened the welfare conditions of health workers.

He said the price of basic necessities had increased by around 36 percent in the last 10 years, while health workers' salaries had not been adjusted.

For this reason, Justin encouraged the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, to immediately adjust the salaries of health workers, especially for those who have not reached the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) as stipulated in Governor's Decree Number 1142 of 2025.
