BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police has formed a traffic jam team called Motor Senyum which was lowered during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return flow in a number of traffic-dense areas.
Director of Traffic of West Java Police Kombes Raydian Kokrosono said the concept of the Smiling Motor was an improvement from the urai team who had previously served in the homecoming traffic security operation.
"This year we have slightly polished the urai team so that the philosophy of the urai team is more humanistic. So we use the name Motor Senyum," said Raydian as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 27.
Raydian said the team's presence was part of the Ketupat 2026 Operation security, with the main task of easing congestion and assisting travelers on the journey.
He explained that the Smile Motor personnel not only have the task of breaking down traffic jams, but also provide direct services to the public with a humanistic approach, including helping travelers who experience obstacles on the way.
According to him, team members will bring simple supplies such as takjil and snacks to be distributed to travelers who are stuck in traffic while fasting.
"The smiling motorcycle is used in rest areas, and is used at several post-pam, and the crowds on the arterial road," he said.
He said that the Smiling Motorcycle was also prepared to help motorists who ran out of fuel or had vehicle damage by escorting them to the nearest repair shop or fuel filling facility.
Raydian emphasized that all traffic units in West Java had been ordered to form such a team with a similar approach so that the service to the public would continue to prioritize a friendly and humanistic attitude during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming traffic security.
"And if you forget to fill up the gas, the team can help travelers to get gas to the nearest gas station," he said.
