JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs has recorded that there are as many as three million social assistance recipients who have not received assistance because they are still in the process of administrative distribution.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf said they were new recipients obtained based on the results of the update of the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN).
Of this amount, approximately 1 million recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and approximately 2 million new non-cash food assistance (BPNT) recipients are reported to date are still waiting for the process of opening a collective account (burekol), card distribution, and preparation for distribution through PT Pos Indonesia.
"Most of them don't have an account. So it's called opening a burekol and it takes 1-2 months for the burekol before the aid can be disbursed," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 21.
Saifullah explained that every quarter there were updates to the data of beneficiaries based on DTSEN, so that there was an addition of beneficiary families (KPM) who had not been registered previously.
On the other hand, the distribution of social assistance for the first quarter of 2026 is reported to be progressing. As of early February or coinciding with this Ramadan, the realization of social assistance distribution has been recorded at more than 85 percent or above Rp. 15 trillion.
For PKH, assistance has been distributed to 8,940,958 KPM from a total allocation of 10 million KPM with a value of more than Rp6 trillion or around 89.4 percent. Meanwhile, Sembako/BPNT assistance has reached more than 15 million KPM from a total of 18,250,000 KPM with a value of more than Rp9 trillion or around 86.9 percent.
Saifullah emphasized that all distributions were carried out through the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to ensure that the assistance was received directly by the community.
The Ministry of Social Affairs ensures that the administrative process for new recipients continues to be accelerated so that assistance can be immediately disbursed, especially ahead of Ramadan, so that people who have been recorded in DTSEN can immediately feel the benefits of the social protection program.
