NAGAN RAYA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, said 195 families (KK) in the Sikundo Remote Indigenous Community (KAT) area, Pante Ceureumen District, were isolated due to flooding after the road previously built by the local government was flooded by the river with a water height of one meter.

"Currently, access to the Sikundo community settlement is still not traversable," said Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD Teuku Ronald to ANTARA in West Aceh, Friday, February 20.

He said the length of the road section that was flooded by the river overflow was estimated to be tens of meters, so that access to the residential area of the community in remote areas could not be crossed.

Ronald said that the flood disaster that submerged the road access occurred after the area was hit by heavy rain in recent days, causing the river water to overflow.

BPBD West Aceh also could not confirm whether there were any casualties in the natural disaster.

Currently, the West Aceh BPBD is still trying to monitor the flood site, to ensure that there is no road damage in the flooded area.

"We are still waiting for the water to recede, as well as ensuring the conditions of the people there later," said Ronald.
