Polda Metro Jaya Antisipasi Rawan Jam Macet Akibat Bazar Takjil saat Ramadan

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Metro Jaya Police predicts changes in traffic flow during the holy month of Ramadan, especially in the morning and afternoon.

Therefore, the Head of Operations Section of the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Police, Commissioner of Police Robby Hefados said that the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Police is now mapping the potential vehicle density during the month of Ramadan, especially the adjustment of entering work.

"With the work from anywhere (WFA) policy and the adjustment of office entry hours to be more in the afternoon, the peak of morning traffic congestion is expected to shift from the usual to around 09.00 to 10.00 WIB," he said, when confirmed, Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Robby said that if on a normal day the density occurs earlier, during Ramadan the morning traffic is predicted to be slightly backwards. This is because this change is influenced by government policies as well as patterns of community activities that adjust work schedules and daily activities.

"On the contrary, an increase in vehicle volume is predicted to occur faster in the afternoon," he said.

Furthermore, Robby said, people who want to break the fast with their families are estimated to start moving from 14.00 to 15.00 WIB, especially towards Bekasi and the southern Jakarta area. So, this condition, he said, has the potential to cause an early density compared to normal days (outside the month of Ramadan).

"We are preparing a more responsive traffic management strategy by adjusting the pattern of security in the field following the dynamics of people's movement," he said.

In addition, said Robby, the government has also mapped a number of locations for the sale of Ramadan takjil and bazaars that have the potential to disrupt vehicle traffic, including the Bendungan Hilir (Benhil) area and several other locations.

"Traffic personnel will be stationed at these points to help facilitate the flow and ensure that community activities remain orderly and safe during Ramadan," he concluded.
