Transjakarta Allows Passengers to Break the Fast on the Bus During Ramadan, Maximum 10 Minutes After the Azan

JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta allows customers to break the fast on the bus when the Maghrib time arrives during Ramadan. This policy applies specifically to customers who carry out fasting and are still on the way when the call to prayer is sounded.

Head of the Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, said the policy was taken to facilitate customer needs during the month of Ramadan.

"We want to ensure that customers can continue to carry out their fasting with comfort, including when the time of breaking the fast arrives in the middle of the journey. Of course, we also invite customers to maintain cleanliness and comfort together," said Ayu in her statement, Wednesday, February 18.

In its provisions, customers are allowed to break the fast with drinking water and snacks. Eating and drinking activities on the bus are only allowed during the time of breaking the fast, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes after the Magrib call to prayer.

After that, customers are asked to follow the applicable service rules, including a ban on eating and drinking on the bus outside the specified time.

In addition to being on the bus, customers can also buy fasting necessities in retail areas or tenants available at a number of Transjakarta stops.

Transjakarta management urges customers to maintain cleanliness, both on the bus and at the bus stop area, so that mutual comfort is maintained during Ramadan.

During the fasting month, Transjakarta services will continue to operate normally. A total of 14 main corridors will continue to serve customers for 24 hours.

"Through this policy, Transjakarta hopes that customers' journeys during Ramadan will continue to feel comfortable, orderly, and meaningful," said Ayu.
