Head of the Banten Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office, Arlan Marzan, said that in addition to toll roads and national arteries which are the responsibility of the central government, provincial roads are prepared as alternative routes and buffers for vehicle movement.

Arlan emphasized that the main homecoming and return flow still relies on toll roads and arteries from Jakarta to Merak. However, provincial roads have an important role to disperse the density if there is a buildup of vehicles on the main road.
"The function of the provincial road is to support and become a strategic alternative route for travelers and tourists," he said.
To maintain the smooth flow of traffic, the Banten PUPR Service also temporarily postponed major construction projects that could potentially cause the road opening and closing system. This step was taken so as not to cause additional obstacles during the homecoming and return period.
