PKS Belum Bahas Pilpres 2029: Mandat Majelis Syuro Kawal Pemerintahan Prabowo Hingga Akhir Periode

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) spoke out about the discussion of Prabowo Subianto's re-election in the 2029 presidential election. PKS Secretary General Muhammad Kholid, emphasized that the Syuro Council had not discussed Prabowo's two-term discourse.

"Regarding the 2029 presidential election, there has been no discussion at the PKS. Yes, the PKS DPP will certainly follow the decision of the Syuro Council's deliberations. Meanwhile, until now the Syuro Council's deliberations have never discussed the 2029 presidential election," said Kholid at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.

"So we as the mandataries of the PKS Syuro Council, yes we are carrying out the mandate from the Syuro Council, yes we will follow it. Regarding the presidential election until now we have not discussed it," he continued.

Until now, continued Kholid, the PKS has followed the mandate of the Syuro Council to accompany the success of the Prabowo government until the end of the period.

"PKS is committed to fully supporting the success of President Prabowo Subianto until 2029. That is the mandate of the Syuro Council which has a duty, has the authority to determine it," said Kholid.

"So PKS will be committed to monitoring the success of the government of President Prabowo Subianto until the end of his term," said the DPR member.

PKS respects a number of political parties that support the discourse of two periods following the proposal of Prabowo's running mate. However, Kholid emphasized that PKS will still discuss and wait for the official decision of the Syuro Council.

"Regarding the existence of several parties that have expressed their attitude to support Prabowo for two periods by proposing (cawapres), yes we respect. Each party has its own internal organizational mechanism, yes, and we also have a process within it. So we will do Syuro through the musyawarah mechanism of the Syuro Council," explained Kholid.

"So if other party friends we really respect have given statements of attitude and so on. And we in PKS until now we have not discussed the 2029 presidential election," he continued.

"What we emphasize here is how the most important thing is President Prabowo Subianto, his government is successful until the end of his term," added Kholid.
