JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno asked Google, as one of the largest providers of internet services and products, to help realize security and comfort in using the internet in Indonesia.

"We have no choice. If we go on Hajj, the choice is to take a plane, even though we know there is a risk of the plane going down, but it does not mean that the solution is to walk. Just please take care of the aircraft industry, take care of your aircraft well, think about the fate of us passengers. Yes, roughly that's what I want to say to Youtube, to Google," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Praktikno, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 10.

Pratikno assessed that writing guidelines for use by parents, teachers, children, and so on is not enough if the guidelines are not used by the community.

"You (should) not have made guidance, but to what extent Indonesians, Indonesian teachers, Indonesian children, Indonesian parents use (the guide). If you make it, no one uses it, it's useless," he said.

"Kita-kita ini sudah tergantung, banyak tergantung kepada Anda. Anda making big money from us. Please, responsible," ucap Pratikno menegaskan.

Pratikno invited all service and product internet system organizers to jointly innovate so that all people in Indonesia can surf the virtual world safely and comfortably.

He said the government had repeatedly conducted education on the use of the internet, but education alone was not enough.

"There should be an automation mechanism to ensure that education is delivered like that. If digital affairs damage the physical and mental health of children, we are guilty. This is not a normal sin, this is a sin," said Pratikno.

However, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries appreciated Google for its support in organizing internet service and product systems in the country. In the future, he hopes that the system will be strengthened to realize security and comfort in surfing the internet.
