JAKARTA - President Donald Trump praised his personal relationship with President Xi Jinping, as well as the United States' relationship with China is very good.

President Trump on Wednesday said he had a "very good" and "long and thorough" phone call with President Xi ahead of his official visit to Beijing.

The US President said they discussed "trade, military, the trip I will make to China in April (which I am looking forward to!), Taiwan, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the current situation with Iran, the purchase of oil and gas by China from the United States," and other things, quoted from Anadolu (5/2).

President Trump said China was considering the potential purchase of additional U.S. agricultural products, as well as the delivery of delayed aircraft engines.

"The relationship with China, and my personal relationship with President Xi, is a very good one, and we both realize how important it is to keep it that way," he said on his Truth Social platform.

"I believe that there will be many positive results achieved over the next three years of my presidency in relation to President Xi, and the People's Republic of China!" he added.

Separately, China has previously confirmed the call, but provided few details.

Relations between Beijing and Washington have stabilized after Xi and Trump met in late October in South Korea, with both sides announcing progress in easing a long-simmering trade dispute that has roiled global markets.
