West Aceh Land Fire Spread to 57.7 Hectares

West Aceh Regent Tarmizi reviews efforts to extinguish the land fire that occurred in Ujung Beurasok Village, Lapang Village, Meulaboh/ANTARA/HO-BPBD West Aceh

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency stated that the land fires that occurred in a number of locations in the area had spread to 57.7 hectares.

"Efforts to extinguish are still being carried out, by blocking and extinguishing in the affected areas," said Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD, Teuku Ronald, Tuesday, February 3, reported by ANTARA.

The land area that has been burned includes the Johan Pahlawan District, which includes Suak Raya Village with an area of 10.5 Ha, Lapang Village (Dusun Ujong Beurasok) with an area of 9.5 Ha, Suak Nie Village with an area of 10 Ha.

Then in Meureubo District, a fire occurred in Alue Peunyareng Village with an area of 1 Ha, Ujong Tanoh Village on land I with an area of 0.5 Ha and Ujong Tanoh Village on land II with an area of 0.5 Ha, as well as Ranto Panyang Timur Village with an area of 2 Ha.

Land fires also occurred in Bubon District, including Peulanteu Village with an area of 6.2 Ha, Blang Luah Village with an area of 4 Ha, then in Aron Baroh Village, Woyla District with an area of 0.5 Ha and Blang Cot Rubek Village, West Woyla District with an area of 1.5 Ha.

Land fires also occurred in Meunasah Rambot Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency with an area of 11.5 Ha.

Teuku Ronald said the strong wind at the fire site made the extinguishing efforts difficult, and the lack of water sources around the fire site also became a challenge for officers in extinguishing fires at each location.

The elements involved in the efforts to extinguish the land fires in West Aceh include the damkar personnel of the West Aceh BPBD Mako, the damkar personnel of the Woyla District, the damkar personnel of the Meureubo District, the damkar personnel of the Kaway XVI District, the damkar personnel of the Arongan Lambalek District.

Then the personnel of the Manggala Agni Sibolangit Dalkarhut Center of Sumatra, TNI soldiers from Kodim 0105 West Aceh, TNI soldiers from Yonif 116 Marine Guard, personnel from the West Aceh Police, personnel from the Aceh IV Regional Police, personnel from the Aceh Provincial DLHK, and the community around the fire location.
