ACEH - The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government through the Youth and Sports Tourism Office (Disparpora) recorded two months after the flood disaster, the condition of natural tourist destinations in the area was still completely paralyzed and without visitors.

"In the last two months, there have been no tourists at all. After the disaster, it was recorded that there were zero visitors, both to waterfall destinations and marine tourism (beaches)," said Head of Tourism and Economic Disparpora Aceh Tamiang Thamrindu Lubis, Sunday.

In fact, the number of tourists who came before the flood was quite large, almost 1,000 people every week in one tourist spot.

The number of local and out-of-area tourists per year entering Aceh Tamiang is recorded at 70 thousand visitors, spread across 14 natural tourist destinations.

Usually, the most visitors to the Gunung Pandan Tenggulun river bath tourist attraction can reach 600 tourists per week, while the Rukui Island Beach on the coast of Banda Mulia has 800 visitors per week.

"But today no visitors came because the access road to the tourist attraction is still full of mud and wood," he said.

He said that of the 14 natural attractions in Aceh Tamiang, Mount Pandan and Rukui Island are the most popular with tourists, as well as the hot springs in Kaloy Village, Hulu Tamiang which already have complete public facilities.

However, now the condition of the three tourist destinations that are the mainstay of the people of Aceh Tamiang, is in a state of disorder after floods and landslides. All public facilities, such as homestays, relaxation huts, gazebos and toilets are severely damaged.

"Currently, the tourist destination of Aceh Tamiang from upstream to downstream is all destroyed. Including public facilities and infrastructure built by the government, about 50-60 percent are destroyed," he said.

He explained the current condition of the Gunung Pandan tourist attraction after the disaster.

"There are few people staying at the destination of Mount Pandan because it is a high area, but there is a landslide. Well, so for now all roads and trails to the destination cannot be passed," he said.

He admitted that it took a long time to recover tourist destinations that were affected by disasters, including natural tourist attractions such as waterfalls filled with wood trunks carried by floodwaters.

However, his party targets that after Lebaran 2026, one of the primadona tourist attractions in the upstream area, namely Mount Pandan Tenggulun, will be tried to operate again to attract visitors.

"We have called all the village tourism awareness groups (pokdarwis) to list the damage and the needs of the necessary tools, we will immediately facilitate," said Thamrindu Lubis.
