Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the Kaltara Prosecutor's Office, Andi Sugandi Darmansyah revealed that the fugitive named Babul Salam Bin Patahuddin (27) was arrested on Thursday night, January 29, 2026, at around 20.30 WIB in the Perumahan Taman Villa Baru area, Bekasi, West Java.
"Babul Salam is a convict in the electoral crime case which has become legally binding based on the Tanjung Selor District Court's Decision Number: 15/Pid.Sus/2024/PN.Tjs dated March 27, 2024," said Andi, Saturday (31/1/2026).

"After intensive tracking by the Prosecutor's Office Team, the presence of the convict was finally detected in Bekasi and was successfully secured without resistance," he explained.
He added that after the arrest, Babul Salam was temporarily detained at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office Branch Detention House. Then, on Friday morning (30/1/2026), the convict was flown from Jakarta to Tarakan using a Batik Air plane with escort from the Kaltara Regional Attorney's Office Intelligence Team and Kejari Bulungan.
"Upon arrival in Tarakan, the convict was immediately executed at the Tarakan City Penitentiary (Lapas) at 18.30 WITA to serve his sentence," he concluded.
