BMKG Warns of Potential Heavy Rain in Cisarua Next Week

Bandung - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Bandung stated that the potential for rain in the Cisarua area, West Bandung Regency, West Java, is still considered high until next week with varying intensities from light to heavy.

Head of the Bandung BMKG Teguh Rahayu said the weather pattern in the region had not shown significant changes compared to the previous day.

"It's still the same as yesterday. We also see that in the next week the potential is still the same. Light to heavy rain is still potentially for this Cisarua area in particular," said Teguh in Bandung, Friday, quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that this condition requires strengthening preparedness from various sectors, especially in the face of the potential impact of extreme weather that can trigger hydrometeorological disasters.

"So the strengthening of various sectors must continue to be improved. Then the community must also remain vigilant," he said.

According to Teguh, the high rainfall potential is influenced by the position of West Java which is currently in the peak period of the rainy season, so that rainfall tends to be more intense than other times.

"If the peak of the rainy season, yes, of course the intensity will rise. Especially at this peak, of course the intensity is getting higher," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto said his party had deployed two aircraft units in weather modification operations to anticipate high rainfall and support the search process for victims in the area.

Suharyanto said that the two planes stationed in the West Bandung area were considered to be quite helpful in the search process because they were considered to reduce the intensity of rain in the area.

"This modification operation is not stopping at all, but reducing. We continue to try. Earlier, a meeting with BMKG, the rainfall is expected to be like this until tomorrow at 1 p.m.," said Suharyanto.
