Flooding in Kampung Melayu Capai 2 Meters, Residents Evacuated in SD Building

Kebon Pala, Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta - The settlement of residents in Kebon Pala, Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, was flooded on Friday morning with a water height of two meters (200 Cm).

"Currently, the water has reached 200 centimeters, two meters," said the Head of RT 13/RW 04 Kampung Melayu Sanusi, ANTARA, Friday, January 30, 2026.

He said the water began to rise around 02.00 WIB. The water level continued to rise until the morning and submerged the houses of residents in the lower areas.

"The water started to rise at two o'clock in the evening, from less than two meters before, now it keeps rising, it's already two meters," said Sanusi.

The flood of two meters submerged household furniture, vehicles, and cut off access to the neighborhood.

According to Sanusi, the water level is still potentially increasing if the rain comes down again with high intensity and long duration.

Many residents have been displaced since last night because the water quickly entered the house and made the settlement no longer safe to live in.

Residents choose to save themselves early to avoid greater risks.

"Residents have been displaced from last night. Many are displaced in the SD building," said Sanusi.

Until now, the flood conditions in Kebon Pala have not shown signs of receding. Residents are still staying in evacuation locations.

Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that rain would still hit parts of Jakarta on Friday.

West Jakarta is predicted to have light rain this morning, then heavy clouds in the afternoon and will be hit by moderate rain in the afternoon. In the evening, West Jakarta is likely to be cloudy again. The average temperature of the area throughout Friday is 25 degrees Celsius.

Central Jakarta is predicted to be thick clouds this morning to noon, then interspersed with moderate rain in the afternoon, and again thick clouds at night. The average temperature of the area throughout the day is 25 degrees Celsius.

South Jakarta is predicted to have light rain this morning, then heavy clouds in the afternoon. In the morning, the area is likely to be hit by moderate rain, then return to heavy clouds at night. The temperature of the area this Friday is 25 degrees Celsius.

East Jakarta is likely to be thick clouds this morning to noon, then light rain in the afternoon, and again thick clouds at night. The temperature of East Jakarta today is also 25 degrees Celsius.

North Jakarta is also predicted to be thick clouds this morning to noon, then it will be light rain in the afternoon, and it will be thick clouds again at night. The average temperature of the area throughout Friday is 25 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands are predicted to be thick clouds throughout the day with a temperature of around 27 degrees Celsius.
