Bahlil Lahadalia: India Interested in Entering Indonesia's Oil and Gas Sector

Jakarta - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed India's interest in entering the Indonesian oil and gas sector.

This was conveyed to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 7.

This interest is one of the parts of the energy cooperation discussed after the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bahlil said that cooperation with India is not only about coal.

India also wants to expand cooperation to the oil and gas sector. According to Bahlil, the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of India will be involved in the cooperation. Bahlil has not detailed the form of the oil and gas project that will be worked on together.

He only mentioned that the cooperation still needed to be further examined. Bahlil said that energy cooperation was part of a bilateral relationship that had been going well. The government wants the relationship to be improved and strengthened through new commitments.
